Today's subject is a little touchy....dressing for your age!!  This is something that I think is very important.  Now I know that fifty is the new forty but when you see a fifty-something lady wearing a mini skirt and boob tube the expression "mutton dressed as lamb" comes to mind!!!  This also works the other way too, and there is no good reason a twenty-something female should be dressing like her grandmother!!  Another thing that is important is that you need to move with the times, and if you're still sporting 80s makeup and hair you really need to think about changing your look!  Too much or too little makeup is something to think about too - too much or too little can age you!  And there's no reason to still be wearing that mullet hairstyle ladies!! So take a look below at how to rock each decade and be age appropriate!!

20s : There are no boundaries for twenty-somethings when it comes to fashion!  It's about personal style and adding touches you can get away with only when you're younger, whether this means playing with color, mixing and matching, or wearing high heels & high hemlines!!  This is what your 20s are for - taking the risks you shouldn't when you're older (and hopefully wiser!!).

30s : More pulled-together, serious looks are usually what your 30s are about, because this is the time when most people are concentrating on their careers.  But no need to be a square!  Experiment with fashion-forward styles while maintaining a level of polish!

40s : Classic silhouettes and colors may start to dominate your wardrobe, but each piece should be full of personality!  Think interesting embellishment, feminine volume, and bursts of rich color and pattern.

50s : Refined, tasteful clothes are the foundations of age-appropriate dressing.  Tailoring and structure are key, as are clean lines and fuss-free pieces in a simple palette.

60s : Elegance is the idea, and so timeless, traditional pieces are the mainstays.  Tweed suits, trousers, and coatdresses dominate the closet. Contrasting hues - black, white, and red - are the most chic.

70s : Looking dignified and distinguished is important now - and that means splurging on a little luxury.  Fabrics should be of the highest quality, and tailoring should be precise.

Take a look below at how NOT to dress for your age......

And this is how it SHOULD be done.....
