Another very popular look on the Spring 2012 runways was digital prints.  The scope for digital prints is broad - from abstract graphics (which I happen to love), to photographic prints.  And with the price of digital printing dropping many high street brands now offer a decent selection of pieces (think Macy's).  When shopping for a piece for your spring look, try to find a looks that are purpose-printed for a piece of clothing, such as a pattern mirrored down the front of a dress, or a top that has been created from a photographic print.

Now not everyone is a fan of this trend, but it's all about how you put it together.  If you're unsure about how far you want to go with this look, start small with a photo-printed tee and pair it with a pair of jeans and nude pumps. Or just add an accessory like a graphic print shoe or purse. But, if like me you want to make a bold statement, you can go with a dress that is completely over-the-top, and as I've mentioned before in my posts, one of my favorite designers is Mary Katrantzou.  Her looks are different and ecclectic, and definitely not for the faint hearted, but some of the celebs that wear her designs look great!  And fortunately for me she designed a collection for the high street store Top Shop, which makes it an affordable look for us mere mortals, and this collection can be found on the Top Shop website. She is one of the better known designers known for this trend, but other more adventurous designers who were leaders in the digital print movement also were Alexander McQueen and Erdem Moralioglu. But as with all other trends, be sure to pick a style to suit you.  Here are some tips of what to choose for your body type.

Busty - choose a slimline or draped skirt in a wild print. Not only will it be a talking point but will draw the eye downwards to detract from the bustline.

Pear - you want to keep the focus on the top half of your body, so choose a draped top or a bold blazer.

Athletic build - a shift dress in a graphic print would look great for this shape.

Petite - a smaller print is ideal for this shape, or try photo-printed tees to wear with shorts or jeans.

For the less bold, try a graphic image tee with jeans or a pant or shoes...
