A big trend for Spring 2012 is the white pant. Crisp white pants are the perfect pairing for this season's bright colors and graphic prints on top.  I love this trend and have several different types of white pant, from a classic jean, wide leg linen, and a cropped pant.  However, not everyone gets this look right!  There are some rules to stick to when wearing this trend, so ladies listen up....

Don't spend a lot of money on white pants unless you plan to wear them a lot this summer.  White pants do tend to yellow so you'll need to replace them after one or two seasons.

Do be careful what you wear underneath.  Nothing worse than that VPL ladies (visible panty line!), so try to stick to a nude color undergarment as this color does not show.  And please, for the love of God, don't wear a thong so that everyone sees it whenever you sit down or bend over!  Not pretty!!

Make sure your pocket lining doesn't show underneath your pants.  Cut out the pockets if they do show.

A lot of people think that wearing white pants will make them look bigger.  Not necessarily. You can wear shades of white head to toe (monochromatic dressing), and this look is actually slimming!

If you have big hips, tummy or thighs and want to try this trend find a tunic top that will just skim over your trouble spots.  If you wear a floaty top and skinny jeans it will give the illusion of being slimmer than you are.  Wear a white or nude sandal to help elongate your white pant line to make you look taller and slimmer!

So, now you know how to wear this look, take a look at these different ways to wear a white pant!

And this is how NOT to wear a white pant...
