How to wear the slouchy pant...

The new-fit trend in women's pants is the slouchy pant.  Similar to boyfriend styles, this in-between harem and "relaxed" is going to be everywhere this Spring and Summer.  You'll be hard-pressed to find a retailer that isn't offering something for the slouchy-minded fashion lover.  So what's the appeal?

Not only do they offer comfort (which let's face it ladies, is very important!), but that other favorite term of mine... versatility!  Available in soft and silky textiles, they can easily be styled for work, cocktails or a gallery opening.  They lend a cool, slightly androgynous vibe to any look while still being more feminine than a pair of shapeless denim jeans!

See what I mean with four looks that'll give you inspiration when it comes time to don your own pair.  Think about mixing high and low, metallics with classics and adding in a bit of structure to play off that drapey fit.

The Wrap Skirt...a Spring must have!

The wrap skirt seems to have made a major come-back this season and I think it's the perfect Spring accessory!  It's a great way to welcome Spring, and can be a fun and creative piece to add to your wardrobe.  I'm a huge fan of the wrap skirt and have several of them...time to dig them out of my closet!

Typically with pointy, downward-facing hems, the wrap skirt has been showing up in all sorts of iterations - floral, textured, collaged, colorblocked - so the choice of look is completely yours!  It's a sleek outfit component that's not overly sexy but still appealing.

Pink for Spring!

The 'official' color for Spring this year is pink!  I am happy about this as I happen to love the color pink in all its shades, from baby pink, blush, watermelon, fuschia & bubblegum!  There's so much you can do with pink and now is the time to do it!

Whether you decide to go head-to-toe pink, mix different shades together, or just add it as an accent color, you will look fabulous in this great color of the season.  Pink also goes great with other colors, such as navy, gray & purple, so don't be afraid to be creative when putting your look together. Personally I like to colorblock, so I love to mix pink with bright orange or blue to make a statement!

Spring back in time to the swinging 70s

This Spring, there's a trend that makes me very happy.  Seen everywhere on the runways for Spring  were seventies fashions that took me back to my youth!  But there was a difference - it was the lighter side of the 1970s that came through with luxurious suedes, patchwork pants, and peasant blouses that were more happy than hippie!

The spirit of luxe bohemia reigns for spring with a welcome variety of carefree but sumptuous clothes that are also easy to wear.  But like every trend, there's a way to wear it!  Limit yourself to one throw-back piece per outfit or risk looking kitschy.  Temper a breezy A-line skirt by tucking in a white T-shirt, or update a blanket-striped pant with a crisp white button-up.  And don't forget the obligatory floppy hat!!
