My pick for today for the 'new Hollywood icon' segment is the lovely Christina Hendricks.  Most of you will know her from the show Mad Men, where she plays sassy Office Manager Joan Holloway.  Originally imagined as a temporary role, Joan quickly evolved into one of the shows most iconic characters, propelling Christina virtually overnight into the spotlight. Not only did she gain celebrity for her great performance on Mad Men, but also for her voluptuous body - a timeless vision of feminine beauty at a time where Hollywood is overpopulated with stick-thin actresses. 

Voted Esquire's sexiest woman alive in 2010 she was quoted as saying "you have made me proud of my curves".  Christina has also made the fashions of the Mad Men era fashionable again, with the beautiful figure hugging dresses and suits of the 1950s.  You can catch more of the famous fashions on the new season premiere this Sunday (personally I can't wait for the season, it's been way too long!).  I love the fashions of that era, as they allowed women to really show off their bodies in an elegant yet suggestive manner.  In 'real' life Christina is also not afraid to show off her best assets, and although she hasn't always got it right, I love the fact that she's not afraid to try something different and new.  Coupled with her gorgeous red hair and alabaster skin, she is a true knockout!!
