Jennifer Lopez is my pick for today's 'new Hollywood icon' segment.  JLo as she is fondly called, is the Latin beauty known more for her curves and fashion style & failed marriages (three so far!) than anything else, and is definitely a fashionista with panache! 

The 42 year old beauty was born in the Bronx and started out as a dancer, but her first big break came in 1995 when she was chosen to star in the movie Selena in the title role for which she received a Golden Globe nomination.  However, Jenny from the Block is better known for her music career than her acting, and has achieved huge success in the music industry.  Currently she is one of the judges on American Idol, and seems to be enjoying being in the limelight again after a couple of years of seeming to have kept a low profile.  Now the mother of twins Emme & Max, she is looking better than ever! She seems to get better with age and has definitely come into her own. 

Jennifer is known for having taken some risks with her fashion choices over the years (think the green plunging dress she wore at the grammys several years ago when she was with P. Diddy), but has grown into her own style and looks stylish, sexy and current in her choice of fashion.  She is currently on the cover of the new Vogue magazine and looks amazing.  Never afraid to show off her curves and show off her best assets, Jennifer Lopez deserves to be picked for this segment.
