Celebrate your shape...

To wrap up my piece on celebrating your shape and accentuating your assets I want to concentrate on two things; shoulders and balancing the bust.  These are two areas that a lot of women don't pay as much attention as they perhaps should, so today I want to give you some tips on how to accentuate these areas in the right way.

Show a shoulder

  • Reveal just one body part - the back, a shoulder or an arm - and keep the rest of yourself covered if you like to dress modestly without forsaking sex appeal. This is especially great for more mature women who still want to look sexy but not inappropriate.
  • Choose your most flattering asset and dress to highlight it.  Shoulders usually look lean and toned, even if the rest of you is not, so a one shouldered dress or off the shoulder dress is usually flattering and subtly sexy.
  • Halter dresses and asymmetrical styles are ideal for showing just a little.  Pick pieces in draping jersey that shield but simultaneously emphasize curves.
  • The effect works best in solids.  Loud colors, prints, and embellishments detract from the dramatic impact.

Balance the bust

  • Create a leaner look by wearing an outfit in a solid dark shade.
  • Try tailored pieces like a classic button-up. The structure of the shirt keeps everything looking sleek.
  • A moderate V-neck is a great shape of you have a larger bust.  It's a sultry way to show skin but keep the look modest.  Anything too low could look inappropriate.
  • Strapless styles that lie flat can downplay a bigger bust.  One bold adornment, like a big bow or necklace, also helps - but loads of frills will just add bulk.
