Halloween outfits...

I know I'm a 'no fun zone' when it comes to Halloween, but I just can't help it, sorry folks!  I've never been a fan of, and don't get the whole madness and excitement that is Halloween, but I guess some people just love to dress up in silly costumes!  Anyway, despite my better judgment I am going to at least post some fun pics of celebs in their Halloween costumes over the years.  So if you haven't been able to come up with any ideas for your Halloween outfit yet for your party, maybe today's post will give you some ideas and help get you in the mood!

As for me, I'm going to be avoiding the madness!  But for all of you who enjoy the day, have fun and stay safe!

Fall's top color trends...

It's been long understood that Fall is the time to bring out your cozy colors.  And by cozy, I mean safe; the blacks, navys and grays that you can get lost in and be totally unself-conscious wearing.  This is the time to sink into baggy sweaters and comfy pants, right?  No need to worry about how you're going to look in that skimpy sundress anymore (thank goodness!).  I too am guilty of playing it safe sometimes with the dark colors and baggy sweaters.  But I also love color, especially bold colors, and this year designers are challenging you to don color.  There are still ways you can stay comfy and warm while being the bright spot of the day!

It's not about bodycon, but showing off your style in a way that gets you noticed for your skills mixing up shape and form.  Ralph Lauren and Stella McCartney used purple to amazing effect, one keeping to slim layers, mixing textures, the other keeping it ultra simple with a flowing dress that could be belted or worn loose, depending on your mood.  A few designers decided to borrow Valentino red and make it their own. From a chic little sweater and skirt set to a velvet gown, they show there's truly no wrong occasion to wear the hue.  That's not all, check out my favorite color trends for fall.  And yes, for all of us who refuse to let go of black and gray, you'll be inspired by interesting styling that will have you thinking twice about your typical go-tos.

Going to the game? Here's what to wear to cheer on your team!

It's that time of year when sports fans are in their element, especially here in Pittsburgh.  Whether you're a football fan cheering on the Pittsburgh Steelers or a hockey fan and routing for the Penguins, there's sports madness everywhere!  As many of you may or may not already know, I am not a sports fan (I still haven't got my head around American football!), but I will always cheer on the Pittsburgh teams if I happen to be at a special sporting event (which to be honest, is rare!).

Anyway, my lack of sporting awareness aside, I think that it's still important to look the part when cheering on your favorite team!  So instead of wearing the usual black & gold colors which are the uniform seen at most sports stadiums here in Pittsburgh, why not try wearing comfy, stylish basics and show off how great Pittsburgh fans can look?  Show up at that tailgate party looking fabulous in leggings, and a great comfy slouchy sweater!  Footwear can be comfy and chic too, so instead of wearing those sneakers, don a pair of over-the-knee flats.  A leather moto jacket would also look great and add an extra layer of warmth.  You don't need to overdo it ladies, a simple outfit will do just fine, and trust me, you'll look so much better as you cheer on your team!

Here are four different looks to give you some ideas of what to wear to your next game....

Feather-adorned pieces are a fun must have...

The 'it' embellishment of the runways were without a doubt feathers.  Gorgeous, delicate, and feminine wisps were seen all over the Dries Van Noten runway; Hakaan added feathers to peplums;  Gucci used (of course) bigger, bolder feathers on necks, arms and chests. As gorgeous as these looks are, it would be a mistake to think that feather fancy is meant only for the runway.

Retailers have been offering their own versions of this delightful and eye-catching trend, whether it be on a simple black cardigan, a statement necklace, an evening bag, or a mini skirt.

Challenge yourself to add in a feather accent or an entirely feather-adorned piece into your look this fall and winter, you won't be sorry.  Check out the looks below from the runways and retailers as a guide.
