The Mod Look? Try it...

One of my favorite runway trends for fall layering (and you all know that I'm a huge fan of layering!), has to be the overt historical references to Sixties style.  While you can find bohemian touches in any number of collections pretty much every season, recent collections are an homage to the bright colors, shift dresses and psychedelic prints of the Mod girl.

I loved some of the looks, and I urge you to look at these for inspiration.  Feel free to mix plaid with a mini or a shift; don't be afraid of the psychedelic saturated prints and colors; or for a more sophisticated look try the boxy double-breasted jacket, white knee-high boots and mini skirt a la Salvatore Ferragamo!  Proenza Schouler also went the white shoe post-Labor Day route, putting those myths to rest that you can't wear white after Labor Day!

Not sure where to begin for your Mod look?  Check out my shopping picks.  If all you're trying to do is test the water, I won't hold it against you - a bold patterned tight is just the thing to get you started off right!
