This week I'm going to focus on some of the Spring 2013 Runway Shows, specifically some of my favorites. I love the runway shows because it gives us an idea of the trends to come, colors that are going to be popular, and for me personally, it gives me something to look forward to planning the next season's wardrobe!
My first pick of the runway shows is Marchesa, headed by the lovely and talented Georgina Chapman. Marchesa gave their layers of chiffon, tulle, ruffles, and lace an Indian twist this season. This meant a lot more color than we're used to seeing and less volume, though it did allow for plenty of what the design house does immaculately : embroidery.
Embroidery accented the collars, bodices, and bottoms of nearly every look, many of which were fashioned into draped Indian-style wares like saris. Brocade was also prevalent and tied into a running trend this season, as were jewel-encrusted tunic tops worn over cropped pants.
Take a look at some of these beautifully crafted pieces and bold colors....
