Oscar Fashion Review 2014

Last night saw the grand finale of awards season with the Academy Awards, and I was watching from start to finish, enjoying the glamor and glitz of this annual showbiz extravaganza!  In a year full of some of the best movies I've seen in quite some time, I was so pleased to see 12 Years A Slave win the Best Movie category, and Matthew McConaughey Best Actor which I thought was well deserved.  As many of you know I'm a huge fan of the lovely Cate Blanchett and thought her performance in Blue Jasmine was flawless.  Again, a thoroughly well deserved win for her.

However, I was somewhat under-whelmed by the fashions of last night's ceremony.  I have to say that I think the fashions at the Golden Globes, Emmy's & SAG awards were by far much better than what I saw last night.

The common themes for last night were nude or blush colors, and a lot of peplum.  I happen to love peplum so I didn't have a problem with that.  There was nothing on the red carpet that was a wow moment for me, or anything that was a 'one of a kind look', and I did feel there was a distinct lack of color overall.  However, I do have some favorites of the night, including Camilla Alves, Kate Hudson, Lupita Nyong'O & Cate Blanchett.  I'm sure you've all been waiting with baited breath for my Oscar fashion review, so here it is. Please feel free to give me your feedback on who you thought were the best & worst dressed of the night!
