Today's style tip is about the exciting trend called color blocking!  This trend came about last year and was very popular in the Spring/Summer runways using beautiful bright and pastel colors.  Now you can still use this trend with bolder colors like bright neons which are very on trend this season. Not sure what color blocking is?  Basically it's wearing 2 or 3 chunks of strong, solid color. I am a huge fan of this trend and have been wearing it a lot so far this season, specifically using tangerines, pinks & blues. But be careful of how you put this look together, as it has to be done right.  Here are some tips and pics of how to wear this great look....

*Don't mix too many colors together.  Don't wear more than 2-3 chunks of color.  The more chunks of color, the more it cuts up the body and can make you look shorter and wider if not done properly.  On the runway and in fashion mags this look is modelled by extremely tall & thin models.....we all know that in 'real' life this can translate very differently!  So be aware of this when putting this look together.

*Wear modern color combos!  Don't be afraid of being adventurous using color; a combo of purple and burnt orange or chartreusse and silver look fab!

*If bright colors scare you, no problem.  Stick to classic black & white!

*Use this trend to enhance your shape.  There is a great trick to make yourself look slimmer!  Wear a dress with colour panels on either side of your body and it will give the illusion that you are a lot smaller!  Love this trick!

See below some different color block looks, and don't be afraid to try something new!!
