We've all complained about it and said how we need to hit the gym to get rid of it.....so today I'm going to talk about how to hide that mid-life tummy!!!  Now, the truth is you can have that unsightly extra roll at any age, so I'm not just talking about us 40 somethings here.  Women tend to gain weight on their middle, and as well as being unpleasant to look at, it's also the most dangerous area to gain weight.  But there are ways to hide or disguise, and trust me I'm an expert at it!!  So read on to get some tips on how to hide that area we all hate......

The first and most obvious solution is to try shapewear.  If you've been resisting this because you think it will be like wearing a girdle or that you'll be uncomfortable, think again.  I can attest to the fact that there are so many different kinds of shapewear and levels of support, that it needn't be uncomfortable.  You won't even know you're wearing it and it will smooth all those lumps and bumps that you don't want to reveal!  Shapewear is not just great for smoothing out those bulges, but also if you're wearing form-fitting clothing this is a great way of not having that unsightly visible panty line!  So go ahead ladies, give it a try....

My personal favorite is Spanx!  They have every type of shapewear you can imagine, and some of it is very attractive.  We all want to look our best, and the thought of wearing shapewear can ruin the mood for some of us, but there are some great options out there that look great and hide the bulges.  I am a fan of this lace thong underwear with a panel that holds you in at the same time as looking hot!!  Spanx makes these as well as camisoles and other items that will look just as great.

If you really don't want to go the shapewear route, then you just have to be smart with what clothes you wear.  Obviously something tight-fitting is going to accentuate your tummy, so wear a loose top with a nice accessory like a string of pearls or a pair of chandelier earrings.  But remember ladies, NEVER wear a loose top AND loose bottoms as this will make you look big all over.  The rule is if you wear a loose or flowy top, wear something narrow or fitted on the bottom like a pencil skirt of skinny jeans!  Other ways to disguise your tummy is to wear a printed blouse (the print will detract from the bulge!), or a dress that is a wrap or has ruching.  These things disguise the areas really well and can make you look much slimmer.  Don't be afraid to try different looks, it's the best way to find what works for you!!!
