Loose-fitting Sheath Dresses...

The sheath dress has long been a fashion hit, and a staple for most women.  In a pickle about what to wear and don't have much time to figure it out?  The easy solution for a lot of women is to grab their faithful friend the sheath dress and go!  It's easy to throw on, easy to dress up or down for any occasion, and simpto accessorize .

Now it's being made even more wearable, with sporty techno-stretch textiles and figure-flattering jersey simplicity.  But, as you will see in the examples below, there seems to have been a shift, so to speak!  Ingeniously printed patterns, colorful hues, and sparkly details benefit from a little more room to breathe!! Yes ladies, it's true - the sheath dress is now looser so you have more room to breathe!  So throw out the spanx when you're grabbing your loose-fit sheath dress this season and let out a sigh of relief!

Some of the celebs who have tried this new-look sheath include Diane Kruger, Selma Blair, and Zooey Deschanel.  Take a look and give this fresh look a try...

Anna Karenina Fashions...

I am very excited to see next month's epic Anna Karenina with Keira Knightley.  I've seen a sneak peak of the trailer and other than looking like a great movie, I was in love with the clothes!  Keira Knightley embodies Tolstoy's late 19th-century high-society Russian heroine.  And now Banana Republic has launched a 56-piece capsule collection, dreamed up by their creative director Simon Kreen in collaboration with the film's costume designer, Jacqueline Durran.

In this collection, Anna's extravagant style gets distinctly modernized.  Sumptuous fabrics and sparkling jewelry mingle with designs both sultry and sensible. Miss Durran has been quoted as saying, "it's a rich collection that ties back to Anna with lots of lace, satin, and faux fur, but it's reinterpreted in a contemporary, wearable way.  You can layer on different textures like fur and jewels for the perfect holiday-party look".

I know that I'm going to be checking out this collection at Banana Republic!  How about you?

Mustard is a must!!!

Mustard is one of this year's hottest fall colors, popping up on everything from dresses to winter coats, and pants.  But the color's strong brown undertones can make it a hard color to wear.  I know a lot of women shy away from wearing this color for fear of looking washed out.  But fret not - here are three easy tips to help you rock this color for fall!

Make your makeup pop - mustard yellow is a toned down hue, so go bold with your makeup when wearing this color.  An easy way to glam it up is with a bold red lip and well defined eyes.  Bold is especially important for those with paler skin tones, as the makeup will counteract any washing out effect the color may have on your skin tone.

Accessorize - accessories can make or break an outfit, especially with a hard to wear color like mustard yellow.  When wearing this color go for a chunky 'statement' necklace, and/or chunky bracelets in gold, not silver, as gold plays up the brown undertones of the color.  Accessories are also a great way of wearing mustard when you don't want to wear it head to toe.  Try adding a mustard scarf or shoe with mustard detail to add a pop of color.

Coordinate your colors - as I've already mentioned, this can be a difficult color to wear.  Since the color has a bit of a muted, brown undertone, pair it with colors that also have brown undertones, like purple or orange.  When in doubt, make sure to check out a color wheel for colors that are complementary to mustard yellow.

Check out these looks and see if you want to add this color to your fall wardrobe...
