I am very excited to see next month's epic Anna Karenina with Keira Knightley. I've seen a sneak peak of the trailer and other than looking like a great movie, I was in love with the clothes! Keira Knightley embodies Tolstoy's late 19th-century high-society Russian heroine. And now Banana Republic has launched a 56-piece capsule collection, dreamed up by their creative director Simon Kreen in collaboration with the film's costume designer, Jacqueline Durran.
In this collection, Anna's extravagant style gets distinctly modernized. Sumptuous fabrics and sparkling jewelry mingle with designs both sultry and sensible. Miss Durran has been quoted as saying, "it's a rich collection that ties back to Anna with lots of lace, satin, and faux fur, but it's reinterpreted in a contemporary, wearable way. You can layer on different textures like fur and jewels for the perfect holiday-party look".
I know that I'm going to be checking out this collection at Banana Republic! How about you?
