Faded skinnies...

Today....the latest denim obsession - faded skinnies!!  We can never get enough of denim, year round this is an American staple that most of us can't live without!  The great thing about denim is that it's so versatile.  I love the fact that there are so many different types of denim jeans out there, whether it be the cut, color or style.  There's something for everyone, but I do like this latest trend of the faded skinnies.

There are a number of ways to wear this style.  You can work a tomboyish vibe with cuffed jeans plus a tailored blazer, graphic tee, an edgy cross-over purse and loafers.  Or, go for a more polished look by wearing them uncuffed with a silky top, classic hobo and sexy pumps!  These jeans transition well into Fall too simply by adding a pair of boots and a great scarf as an accessory! I love that you can dress these jeans down for a classic day look or dress up for a night out!  See how Olivia Palermo dressed her jeans up by pairing them with a sparkly jacket for a night out.  Perfect.

Veiled Intentions....

I'm all about subtle sexiness.....and by that I mean that showing a little or giving a hint of what's underneath a garment is way more appealing that letting it all hang out!  Unfortunately I haven't seen many women who are successful at pulling this off, and it seems that when summer hits us, a lot of women seem to think it's okay to bare all no matter what they look like!  Now don't get me wrong, I love a woman that is confident at any size - but please......some discretion is called for at times!

So with that said, I am a big fan of what I like to call 'veiled intentions'.....the seductive peekaboo styles that are on trend right now and make the wearer look ladylike and sexy at the same time!  Gowns with brazen slits are certainly daring, but what's piquing my interest are the body-grazing, floor-scraping black chiffon, scatter-beaded tulle, or netted lace.  These looks are great for special events this summer or cocktail parties.

Some of the celebs who have pulled off this look gracefully include the lovely Charlize Theron, Marion Cotillard, Beyonce and Rooney Mara.

The new holographic trend...

Stella McCartney and Jonathan Saunders both sent their models down the Spring/Summer 2013 runway wearing beautiful touches of holographic clothing and accessories.

And the trend has trickled down to the high streets, ready for us all to buy into it too!  The look is bold and most definitely eye-catching.  Channel Rita Ora or Cara Delevingne when you wear this look.

Jonathan Saunders kept the look streamlined, while Burberry went bold with the metallic trench that finished the Burberry Prorsum runway.  An array of beautiful holographic colored trenches was the final touch to the stunning collection.

If a piece of bold holographic clothing isn't your cup of tea, then introduce the trend with a clutch bag or a pair of shoes.  Definitely the more wearable option.
