How to choose the Best Graduation Dress!

Graduation day is one of the most important days in one's life.  Therefore, it is important to really put some thought into the type of dress you choose to wear.  Because there are so many types of dresses out there, you want to make sure you get the perfect dress for you, while also getting the most bang for your buck.

When shopping, it's good to know what type of dress you want and how much you want to spend.  Dress prices will vary, but it is possible to find a dress that makes you feel and look your personal best, even on a budget.  Take the time to try on different dresses to see which flatters your features and which can conceal the areas you might be a bit self-conscious about. Below are some tips on how to select a stylish graduation dress, and not break the bank!

White dresses are very popular for graduations. One of Spring's trends is the sixties-inspired dress, as well as lace, crochet, asymmetrical necklines and eyelet materials.  These are all details that will add a special touch to your dress.

Colorful dresses are a good idea since you're likely to wear a ceremonial gown, and you should make sure you don't wear something that will clash with that colored robe.  So, what color should your dress be?  My suggestion would be to wear something with few colors.  For the more conservative graduate, try something more formal and subtle like black & white.  You can't go wrong with that color combo!  For the more fashionable graduate, don't limit yourself.  Cobalt blue and aqua, and energizing colors like coral and magenta will also look great.

Also popular this Spring, florals.  They are pretty, feminine and sweet.  That's what comes to mind when I think of floral.  There are some great options out there, and not just for a garden party, but they can be perfect for  the graduation ceremony.

Its very important to be appropriate and presentable for your graduation day.  Always consider the length of your dress.  You want to make sure the length is appropriate for the occasion, but you don't want it so long that you'll trip on it!  Think about which length looks best on you, what would be the most comfortable and what would give the best impression.  Comfort should always be a factor when deciding what type of dress you want to wear.  Think about how long you'll be sitting at your graduation.  The last thing you want is to be uncomfortable.  A maxi dress could be the ideal solution.  They can be fun and flirty and are super comfy.

  1. These dresses are really perfect for graduation. These are all fashionable. But I especially love the all-white dress (top-most photo, right side). It is a great way to emphasize the curves of your body.
