Summer shoes and sandals are everywhere and those who know me are aware that I love my shoes (what woman doesn't?)....and a girl can never have enough shoes! There are so many different types of shoes to choose from, especially in the summer when the choices of styles and colors are huge! So today I'm going to talk about summer shoes and what to wear with them....
So read on to find out more and get shoe shopping......
Ballet Flats - Simple and chic, the ballet flat can be a great look with skinny jeans, a nice flowy knee-length skirt or a great pair of walking shorts (not too short!). Ballet flats are perfect for travelling especially if you're going to be doing a lot of walking. The soft leather ones or the elasticized fold-ups that slip easily into the corner of any suitcase are ideal. They come in array of great colors & designs and are usually very affordable.
Sandals - when you're wearing the full-blown summer looks that are casual and relaxed, sandals are ideal! They look great with breezy sundresses, maxi dresses, shorts or loose linen pants. Try to steer clear of boring beige or brown sandals, and instead go with something that makes more of a statement like metallic colors that add a little glitz or shine, or some detail like embellishment stones.
Gladiator sandal - don't let summer pass you by without a sexy pair of gladiator sandals. They're hip and modern and look great with pretty much anything. A neutral shade looks fabulous with all white and pretty much most colors. I have a couple pairs of gladiator heels that I bought a few seasons ago from Aldo, and I love them! One pair is a brown/beige snakeskin with a very high heel and unfortunately as much as I love them I can't wear them for too long because they are so high! Giving up comfort for style never lasts long!
Wedges - I love wedges for summer! It's the perfect shoe for this time of year and looks youthful and fresh and works with almost everything from shorts to skirts, capris and pants. And the bonus with the wedge - not only do they look great, but they're super comfortable!
Platforms - these are great, especially for shorter gals (like moi!). They add height, but are still easy to walk in. They can also go from casual to dressy depending on the shoe. Try to stay away from a platform that is heavy and chunky as these tend to not be very flattering. The thinner the platform the classier the look! They look great with A-line skirts & fitted jackets.
Dress shoes - these are great for transforming an outfit. Take a simple summer dress that you're wearing with flip-flops for a casual look, then pair it with some killer summer heels and you totally change the look and feel of your outfit. It's a great way to jazz up an outfit - but don't forget to get a good pedicure ladies!
