Michelle Dockery's Red Carpet looks...

I'm always keeping my eyes peeled to see who I think has got great style when it comes to fashion, and someone I've noticed continuously the last year or so is the lovely Michelle Dockery.  For those who are not fans of Downtown Abbey (and I can't imagine who isn't a fan frankly!), she plays the aloof and cool-as-a-cucumber Lady Mary.  Not only does she get beautiful clothes to wear on the show itself, but she wears some amazing outfits off-set too.  Her style is elegant, edgy and chic.  She always looks classy, whether she's attending a red carpet event, or attending a more casual function.  Her hair & makeup always looks flawless too, and she is always appearing to try something different.  with her pale flawless complexion and dark shiny hair, she does indeed look like the traditional English Rose!

I love how she manages to stay looking chic but totally on trend.  She makes it look so effortless too!  I believe her stylist is the same one who styles (Lupita N'yonga), and she is definitely getting it right with Michelle!

Here are some of Michelle Dockery's fashions from the past few months.  I think you'll agree that she looks pretty good!

Find your Perfect Swingy Skirt!

Find your perfect swingy skirt!  This style is as flirty as can be and is going to be a big trend this spring.  But please remember ladies that this style is not for everyone.  It is a youthful trend, so if you're a 'mature' woman, think carefully before trying this trend or it could go horribly wrong!

Keep in mind...
This frankly girlie look works best in a supple fabric, such as silk, cotton, or even knit. Try inverted pleats, or flouncy tiers for maximum movement.

Adjust the volume...
For a sleeker shape, seek a version fitted through the midsection, with fullness starting below the hips.  An A-line is a better choice to camouflage trouble spots.

Make it yours...
Tuck in your top and add heels to emphasize the hourglass silhouette.  Or for contrast, throw on a black leather jacket to introduce a touch of toughness.

Top Prints to Wear Now for Spring...

Today is the first day we've actually had a hint of Spring in the air here in Pittsburgh.  I had lunch outside al fresco with a friend basking in the lovely sunshine, and then actually was able to drive with the roof down on my car for the first time this year!  Such treats get us excited for Spring, and even though this lovely warm spell (from what I hear) is not here to stay just yet, what better time to start thinking about your Spring wardrobe?  So with that said, here's a heads up on what prints are in for Spring!  Get a head start by trying out some of these great looks now.

Stripes, florals, geometrics, spots and swirls...the Spring 2014 runways featured the return of every print under the sun.  Prints were everywhere - every size and shape imaginable, the catwalks were a sensory overload!  If you embrace brilliant bursts of color, ornate geo shapes and retro blooms, these attention-grabbing prints are the ones you should play with come Spring!

One of my personal favorites is mixing prints, like the red polka dot shirt with striped skirt seen in one of the pics below.  I love the fashion-forward look of this and plan on doing this look in the very near future.  Now pick out your look for Spring!
