Fall is just around the corner ladies, and there's always new and fresh things to try for my favorite season. Don't be afraid to try new things. The smallest thing, like adding an embellishment to your lapel (see below) can make a big difference to your outfit. So, read on and get inspired to try some new looks this Fall!
1. Embellish your lapel - this is something I always do! I love adding a little something to a jacket lapel, whether it be a big flower (aka SJP in S&TC), or a great pin. It can completely change the vibe of an outfit. Designers also went mad for menswear this season, so you can play up your work blazer with an accent on the lapel. A two-toned pocket square or a floral pin puts a feminine twist on the tailored trend.
2. A pair of statement specs - don't call them nerdy! A great pair of specs can look stylishly smart, especially with a red-painted pout! Many celebs are sporting this look now, like Zoe Saldana among others!
3. Stagger your sleeves - this genius styling move looks casually chic and will keep you cozy on those chilly days. Put a turtleneck under a top, or let your textured sweater peek out from a three-quarter-sleeve coat. Love the black and white contrast for this look!
4. Leave your shirt half untucked - leaving your shirt out at the side or the back give you an edgy look that also says you're not trying too hard, and can also double up as a way to disguise your butt!
5. Wear your jacket like a cape - it can look put together, like Gucci's look on the runway over a sheer blouse, or sweet and casual, like Alexa Chung's men's blazer worn over a Christopher Kane dress. It's a nice mix of masculine and feminine pieces.
