Another very popular look on the Spring 2012 runways was digital prints.  The scope for digital prints is broad - from abstract graphics (which I happen to love), to photographic prints.  And with the price of digital printing dropping many high street brands now offer a decent selection of pieces (think Macy's).  When shopping for a piece for your spring look, try to find a looks that are purpose-printed for a piece of clothing, such as a pattern mirrored down the front of a dress, or a top that has been created from a photographic print.

Now not everyone is a fan of this trend, but it's all about how you put it together.  If you're unsure about how far you want to go with this look, start small with a photo-printed tee and pair it with a pair of jeans and nude pumps. Or just add an accessory like a graphic print shoe or purse. But, if like me you want to make a bold statement, you can go with a dress that is completely over-the-top, and as I've mentioned before in my posts, one of my favorite designers is Mary Katrantzou.  Her looks are different and ecclectic, and definitely not for the faint hearted, but some of the celebs that wear her designs look great!  And fortunately for me she designed a collection for the high street store Top Shop, which makes it an affordable look for us mere mortals, and this collection can be found on the Top Shop website. She is one of the better known designers known for this trend, but other more adventurous designers who were leaders in the digital print movement also were Alexander McQueen and Erdem Moralioglu. But as with all other trends, be sure to pick a style to suit you.  Here are some tips of what to choose for your body type.

Busty - choose a slimline or draped skirt in a wild print. Not only will it be a talking point but will draw the eye downwards to detract from the bustline.

Pear - you want to keep the focus on the top half of your body, so choose a draped top or a bold blazer.

Athletic build - a shift dress in a graphic print would look great for this shape.

Petite - a smaller print is ideal for this shape, or try photo-printed tees to wear with shorts or jeans.

For the less bold, try a graphic image tee with jeans or a pant or shoes...

A big trend for Spring 2012 is the white pant. Crisp white pants are the perfect pairing for this season's bright colors and graphic prints on top.  I love this trend and have several different types of white pant, from a classic jean, wide leg linen, and a cropped pant.  However, not everyone gets this look right!  There are some rules to stick to when wearing this trend, so ladies listen up....

Don't spend a lot of money on white pants unless you plan to wear them a lot this summer.  White pants do tend to yellow so you'll need to replace them after one or two seasons.

Do be careful what you wear underneath.  Nothing worse than that VPL ladies (visible panty line!), so try to stick to a nude color undergarment as this color does not show.  And please, for the love of God, don't wear a thong so that everyone sees it whenever you sit down or bend over!  Not pretty!!

Make sure your pocket lining doesn't show underneath your pants.  Cut out the pockets if they do show.

A lot of people think that wearing white pants will make them look bigger.  Not necessarily. You can wear shades of white head to toe (monochromatic dressing), and this look is actually slimming!

If you have big hips, tummy or thighs and want to try this trend find a tunic top that will just skim over your trouble spots.  If you wear a floaty top and skinny jeans it will give the illusion of being slimmer than you are.  Wear a white or nude sandal to help elongate your white pant line to make you look taller and slimmer!

So, now you know how to wear this look, take a look at these different ways to wear a white pant!

And this is how NOT to wear a white pant...

First let me apologize for not posting the last few days.  I seem to be having on-going technical problems and I am still trying to resolve them, so please bear with me folks!

But today I want to talk about a trend that I have always loved....boho chic!  With the weather warming up a little it's the perfect time to start thinking about what you're going to wear on those lovely warm days, and this trend is a great way to start.  Anyone can pull this look off!  The great thing about it is that it's easy AND super comfy, and can be flattering on any shape or size!

So start looking in your closet for those long flowy maxi dresses, skirts and sandals.  Wear a maxi skirt with a simple tee and add a chunky belt and a long scarf.  Muss your hair up for that just-got-out-of-bed tousled look and keep makeup simple and natural.  I like to add a floppy hat to finish off the look!  Or if you're not sure about the maxi dress, you can also achieve this look with a pair of jeans, boots and tribal or floral print loose fitting tunic.  Add some chunky jewellry and you're good to go!  Celebrities who look great in these trends are Sienna Miller, Nicole Richie and Kiera Knightly.  Take a look at some of these looks and start planning...
