Okay ladies, I think you're going to love today's trend! This is one of my favorite trends and one that I definitely will be taking advantage of! It's the illusion dress! And if you're not sure what that is, the name tells you exactly what it is! It creates an illusion.....this trend became popular a couple of seasons ago when Kate Winslet wore the now infamous Stella McCartney illusion dress, creating those envious curves and giving that beautiful hourglass shape that most women crave! But at the same time as creating that hourglass shape it also makes you look slimmer because of the design of the dress.
Ever since the illusion dress came onto the scene, it's been created everywhere in various interpretations, at a much more affordable price than the Stella McCartney version! This style has different types of looks and is a must for a night out on the town with that special someone! Take a peek at these wonderful dresses and give it a shot....I promise you won't regret it!

Top 10 Trends: New York Fashion Week Fall 2014
Most people wish to go on a expensive extended vacation, or buy a yacht or a fancy car when they dream of coming into a lot of money. My dream? To be in the front row of all the major fashion shows for New York Fashion Week, Paris, Milan & London Fashion Weeks! That would be like heaven to me, to be able to sit and watch the works of art sauntering up the runways.
My love of fashion isn't only about the latest trends and looking good, it's so much more than that. I appreciate the art of fashion, the craftmanship. When I see a beautiful piece I am always in awe of what went into making it; the creativity, the hard work that is involved in the small details like hand beading and cut. It's so much more than a piece of clothing to me. I truly get passionate about the art of fashion, which is why I love it when it's time for Fashion Week anywhere in the world, because I get to see what the designers latest vision are; what new-comers to look out for; what textures & colors will be in vogue. It's so exciting to me.

Sheer Looks for All
Layer up your look with these game-changing peekaboo pieces.....
What do you imagine when you think of sheer? While it describes the texture of tights and a sign of seductive lingerie, there are definitely other uses for it. A sheer panel here, a mesh top there....all are stylish ways to integrate the look into your life. It need not necessarily be revealing. While you could show off some skin, you could also use the sheer look as a way to experiment with layering - just think of how a garment can change based on what you wear underneath, whether in the name of modesty or experimentation.
Do remember ladies that this trend needs to be thought out carefully for those of us in the 40+ age range. While I do love this trend, I'm careful of how I wear it. One of my favorite ways to wear this trend is with a sheer black hi-lo shirt that I have that I wear completely buttoned up over a black cami and leggings. It's a simple yet stylish look and age-appropriate.
My favorite sheer pieces are both a study of in-your-face invisibility and clever placement. Whether you're looking to show a ton of skin or just a bit, sheer pieces have your back! Check out some of my current favorites.
This top is the definition of uber-trendy, but I'm really feeling those embroidered symbols.
This shirt is completely sheer, which seems a bit extreme, until you remember this opens up a whole new world of cool layering possibilities. This should not be worn this way for 40+ women!!
This lovely Kenzo top has a really nice sheen to it and the peplum accent is done really well.
Adding interest to sheer pieces elevates a piece in our eyes, so I really like this great striped sheer button-down. You can even change the look of the stripes as you swap different layering pieces underneath.
Go all the way with this great floor-skimming, long-sleeved maxi dress, because it's totally sheer.
If the above dress is too far for you to go, try going almost all the way with this cool dress. Being a little daring has never looked so effortless. This is one of my personal favorites for spring.
And finally, these cool Rachel Comey/Hansel from Basel socks are so quirky, and they'd add a ton of interest to any outfit! I can see them fitting nicely with a short tea dress.

What will you be wearing this Valentine's Day?
For Valentine's Day fire up your style in sizzling reds! Red is this season's most sizzling color. Red flame, a combination of fiery blue reds and zesty red oranges are everywhere! Not meant for the shy, this hot hue as seen at Victoria Beckham, Oscar de la Renta and Narciso Rodriguez is meant for those drawn to making a very strong statement. My styling tip : go for bluer reds if your complexion is fair or rosy and orange reds if your skin is olive toned or dark. Keep the attention strictly on this fiery hue by sticking to black or neutral accessories and minimal makeup.
Here are some of my favorite reds...
Look both effortless and hot in this fiery red one-shoulder dress from Milly. Styled in flowing georgette, this frock makes for a versatile purchase that can be worn as a cocktail dress or a hot date option.
Give your blue jeans a break and instead step into these colorful ones. These lightweight, stretchy denims are as comfy as they are hot. Wear with a neutral top and accessories for a day appropriate look.
Rethink the idea of playsuit with a tailored piece. Made from a soft stretchy jersey and cinched at the waist with a wide black patent leather belt, this tomato red suit is the ultimate smart piece for spring. Give it edge by pairing it with studded booties and a metallic clutch.
Get your vamp on with these open toe suede heels from Topshop. A twist metal lock gives these fiery red shoes a more urban appeal.
I love this retro-inspired skirt with adorable polka dots from ModCloth. Add kitten heels, a blouse, and minimal jewelry for a sweet take on vintage wear.
Dramatic undertones add mystery and sex appeal to this romantic rose print dress. Cut from stretchy silk material, this pretty frock also makes for a comfy and flattering choice.
