Just a few years ago, you would latch a statement necklace over bare skin whenever you wanted to frame your face for maximum impact. The newest option, however, could have been lifted from the wardrobe of a wealthy, if not virginal, heroine out of a Victorian novel.  Buttoned high, these richly crafted collars with lavish embroidery or brilliants are elegant, a bit formal, and meant to attract in ways other than those of the flesh!

Celebrities have taken on this new trend with gusto and some, like Diane Kruger, Amanda Peet & Kristen Bell have pulled off this somewhat prim look with panache!  I am not a prude by any means, but I love this new and interesting trend.  Why not give it a try?  You can mix it up and wear the buttoned up closed collar look with a great pair of shorts to add a modern flair.  Or be buttoned up while keeping the blouse sheer for a subtle peek of skin.  There are numerous ways to wear this trend, from heavily embellished, sparkly or embroidered, to very plain & simple.
