Today, in honor of Mother's Day, I firstly want to say that I am always in awe of any woman who is a mother. I believe it is the hardest job in the world, and one that is not always given the recognition it deserves. I believe one has to be a special person, indeed a selfless one, to take on the role of being a mother, and despite the fact that I am not myself a mother, that doesn't mean I am unable to appreciate what endless work, challenges, and joys being a mother involves. My own mother is far away, but I think of her today and every day, and admire so much what she did to raise myself and my three siblings in such difficult times as an immigrant in London. Her strength kept the family together during difficult times, and continues to do so today. So I thank you mum, for being the person you are, for making the sacrifices you have made, and for always doing your best for the family.
On a lighter note, there are many 'celebrity' mums who are always being photographed with their children, and I have to say, for the most part, they usually look pretty good! It's important to still make the effort to look great when you're a mum, and not think that it's not important because you're so busy! Yes, I'm sure you don't have the time you used to have to fret over what to wear or to do your makeup impeccably, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't care. If you look good, then invariably you'll feel good, so make the effort, however slight, to put on those sexy jeans instead of throwing on your sweat pants, and putting on some lip-gloss instead of being makeup-free! I guarantee you'll feel better.
I know the celebs have the money and usually the assistants to help them look good no matter how many kids they have, but maybe take a leaf out of their book and try to look sassy next time you're doing the school run! Here are some celebs with their kids.....
