Leather Looks for everyone...

Leather - as many of you know I am a fan of leather.  Done correctly it can look great, but you do need to put thought into how you add leather to your outfit so that the overall look will be tasteful and not tacky!  And now leather has a new favorite season thanks to fashion-forward designers like Jason Wu, Phillip Lim & Proenza Schouler.  My favorite fabric got a brand spanking new makeover that fits easily into our spring wardrobes, proving that leather isn't just for winter days, and doesn't mean you're limited to black pants.  From punchy colors to feminine shapes, here are some of my picks of spring-ready leather pieces you need to add to your collection.

As versatile as it gets....a futuristic shape and neutral color make this sleek leather shell a practical piece to own come spring.  Pair with tailored pants in the same color family for a very minimalist look or with silk printed trousers for an effortless combination.

As Versatile As It Gets

I love how the metallic studs embolden and liven up the style of this smooth leather jacket.  For further edge, pair this topper with a bright leather pencil skirt and sleek patent leather pumps.

Atypical Edge

The modern tutu...for the younger set, a swingy silhouette gives this electric blue leather skirt a more relaxed appeal that can work both during the day and at night.  Give the feminine tutu a modern twist by pairing it with a basic T and casual sneakers.

The daring separate...not your typical jogging pants, these slouchy leather ones are both polished and effortlessly cool.  Pair with a knitted tank and short booties for a downtown edge.

The Daring Separate

Edgy spring flowers...spring flowers get a sexy and edgy makeover thanks to a body-hugging silhouette and contrasting faux leather panels.  Wear yours with sleek black accessories for a night out on the town.

Edgy Spring Flowers

Trust this piece to become one of your favorites for spring.  Its delicate embroidered bodice provides a sweet and subtle contrast to its tonal leather skirted counterpart.  For a day-friendly look, add a neutral solid cardigan, minimal jewelry and metallic sandals.

The Mixed-Media Frock

Bold and daring...if you are feeling bold and a bit daring, add this faux leather bandeau to the mix.  For maximum impact, pair it with high waisted printed trousers, stacked sandals and plenty of tribal-inspired jewelry.

Bold and Daring

Give your outwear a playful vibe with this bold printed leather jacket.  Hazy spots and an off-center zipper give this kaleidoscope topper a unique and fashion-forward edge.

Hazy Spots

A clean, straight fit keeps this tomato-red sleeveless coat from looking too over-the-top or austere.  Give it a graphic edge by pairing it over a printed dress or tailored separates.
