Women, Wine & Wardrobe...

I recently participated in a 'Women, Wine & Wardrobe' event in Mt. Lebanon. It was a lot of fun, and it was great to meet so many lovely women of all ages.

The ladies really went to town with their outfits for the occasion and there was a lot of sparkle, color and even some hats and headpieces!  I was very impressed with how much thought and effort the ladies obviously put into their look for the day.

There were a number of vendors at the event, mostly showcasing jewelry and beauty products, and I have to admit to purchasing a number of pieces of jewelry for myself!  The selections of jewelry were unique and very reasonably priced.

The fundraiser included a fabulous lunch for around 200 guests, and there was a fashion show and giveaways throughout the day.  I donated two gift certificates and am looking forward to working with the two ladies who won them.

Please take a look at some of the pics I took of the guests, and fashion show.

It's sheer magic!

Sheer fashions have made a comeback, and this is a trend that I love!  Delicate black dresses have been seen all over the red carpet lately, and celebrities like Cate Blanchett, Keira Knightly & Kate Bosworth have all been seen wearing chic transparent black dresses.

But be careful ladies, there's a fine line between tasteful and tacky.  This trend has to be put together thoughtfully, so be mindful of how much sheer you have and what undergarments you wear with this look.  Is it ever okay to let your bra show through your top?  Well, surprisingly this answer is yes! Feminine underpinnings sensuously revealed beneath a tissue-thin layer are sexy yet refined - just make sure that you don't show too much (the bra shouldn't be sheer), and that your garments fit properly.

Another way to tame this look is to let a bit of bra peek out from the neckline of a body-skimming dress.  Obviously it's important to know when and where to wear this look!  If you're wearing it to work then it's not appropriate, but a cocktail party or dressy event is the place to bring on the sheer look!

Here are some different ways to pull off this look....
