WHBM Style & Shopping Party

This evening at White House Black Market where I work part-time, we had a private styling & shopping party for some of our clients.  We had a total of 8 ladies who came to the store to shop and get some help from me with regards styling.  And we had a blast!  The ladies were great fun, and willing to try new things and step outside of their comfort zone, which as we all know, is not easy.  So kudos to them for being so willing to do that.  We had snacks and drinks, and the evening was a lot of fun, and I thoroughly enjoyed working with all of these lovely ladies, and I look forward to seeing them and working with them again in the future.

The private styling and shopping events are going to be something we try to do on a regular basis.  It's not just for our regular clients, or my personal clients.  If any of you ladies are interested in having us organize an event for you please let me know and I'll be happy to coordinate it for you.  If you have a special occasion coming up like a wedding shower or graduation party and you have a group of ladies that need help finding outfits, I can set up a private party for you.  If you have a vacation coming up and need some inspiration, or even if you just need some new outfits because you're tired of looking at the same items in your closet, just get in touch and I'll get you set up.

Ladies Day at Royal Ascot...

We Brits are suckers for tradition, and none more so than Ladies Day at Royal Ascot. It's one of the events of the most hotly anticipated days on the racing calendar, and a day for all the ladies to wear their lovely and in many cases outrageous hats!  Every year I look forward to seeing what's in store with the head-gear, and this year did not disappoint.

Ladies Day saw a herd of fabulously dressed racegoers converge on the paddock, with bright hues, monochrome and cheerful floral print once again.  The Queen arrived looking cheerful in a pretty lavender hue accompanied by her grandson Peter Phillips and his wife Autumn Kelly who was radiant in an emerald green ensemble and cream hat.  Another royal to appear was Princess Eugenie who plumped for a viridian dress teamed with a delicate silver pillbox hat by milliner, Nerida Fraiman.

Some of the hats were lovely, some were like a piece of art, some were silly, and some were just plain ridiculous!  But it was all in good fun and done with humor, which is what it's all meant to be about.  So take a look at some of the looks on show at this prestigious British event.

Summer Whites....get the look!

Summer whites....I just love them!!  There's something about wearing white in the summer that I absolutely love.  Whether it's a dress, a pant teamed with a bright pop of color on top, a flowy skirt or glam cocktail outfit, I think that white looks fabulous!  It looks especially great with a tan, so make sure you've got your golden glow when you pick out your white outfit.

Off-white or cream looks just as great and actually cream can flatter a tan better than stark white.  Whichever shade of white or cream you choose for your summer outfit, you can't go wrong, so check out these looks and start planning...
